CAPTAIN Kyle Benedictus hailed Athletic's romp over Livingston as their best performance of the season so far but said that they need to build on it.
The 32-year-old is also hopeful that the manner of their 3-0 victory on Tuesday night, which gave them only their second maximum of the Championship campaign, whilst ending the unbeaten start of their opponents, was important for confidence within the squad.
Benedictus hadn't played since the end of August - a period of eight games in all competitions - before returning to the heart of James McPake's defence for the visit of the Lions.

Producing an assured display at the back alongside Sam Young, the centre half led from the front as the Pars earned their biggest league victory since defeating Arbroath by the same scoreline last November.
He even added his name to the scoresheet, either side of Chris Kane's brace, on a perfect first game back, but he wants it to be the start of an upturn in results.
"Yeah, you have to say that's obviously the best performance we've had this year," Benedictus said.
"I still think, in recent games, we've actually performed alright, just the results haven't been there, but I think tonight it all came together.
"But it's one result. Nobody's getting carried away. It would be good go and get three points on Saturday and build on what we've done tonight."
Dunfermline went into the game on the back of a weekend defeat at rivals Falkirk, which was their fifth league game without a win, and had only picked up six points from their first 10 matches.
They remain second bottom of the table, but are within one point of Greenock Morton, who sit immediately above them, and widened the gap to four points from bottom side Airdrieonians.
When asked how important the win and performance over Livi was, Benedictus continued: "Yeah, just to get the belief and confidence because there is a very good squad in that changing room, especially when everybody's fit.
"I think you can see the boys that didn't even get off the bench today, and the boys that didn't even make the bench. There was a couple of boys that were left out, so there's quality all over the pitch, but it's up to us.
"We need to produce performances week in, week out, and hopefully tonight's the start.
"We've kept saying to each other we just need a victory from somewhere. It doesn't matter if it's scrappy and we get a victory but, obviously, it was pleasing to get a convincing victory.
"I think every game, as you can see, obviously not tonight, but every game is very tight. I think we've lost so many games by the odd goal where we probably shouldn't lose. It's just what's been happening this year, but we've got a victory today.
"As I say, we're not getting carried away, but hopefully we can build on it going into Saturday."
On whether the result lifted any weight off the shoulders of the players, Benedictus added: "I think it would be different if the performances weren't there, but I think in games, there's been parts of the game where we have been good, and we've maybe just not got that goal to take.
"As you say, this league isn't very forgiving. If you don't score the first goal, usually you don't win the game. It's happened all year, but I was delighted to get that first goal tonight, and we built on it, and as you say, it ended up with a convincing 3-0 win."
