A new date has been announced for SPFL League One leaders Kelty Hearts' postponed top of the table fixture with Arbroath.

This afternoon, the governing body have confirmed that the match has been rescheduled for Tuesday December 17.

The two teams had been due to meet at New Central Park on Saturday, with Michael Tidser's hosts above the second top Red Lichties on goal difference.

With Storm Bert hitting the country with adverse weather, a pitch inspection was called for 10.30am, which then determined that the surface was unplayable due to snow.

The game will now take place later this month, with a 7.45pm kick off, before which the clubs face crucial matches in both the Scottish Cup and the league.

This Saturday, Kelty travel to League Two leaders Elgin City in the third round of the Scottish Cup, before hosting Alloa Athletic in League One on December 7, and then travelling to Cove Rangers on December 14.

Earlier this season, in their third league fixture of the campaign, the 'Maroon Machine' romped to a 3-0 win at Gayfield, thanks to goals from Scott Allan, Scott Williamson and Ross Cunningham.

The following day, Arbroath parted company with their manager, ex-Pars boss, Jim McIntyre, and appointed club stalwarts Colin Hamilton and David Gold as co player / managers.
