Scotland star Caroline Weir said that missing out on a place at next summer's European Championships was "really hard to digest" following their defeat to Finland.
The Dunfermline-born Real Madrid star captained her country - in the absence of regular skipper, Rachel Corsie - for their UEFA Euro 2025 play-off final.
After a scoreless first leg on Friday at Easter Road, the Scots travelled to Helsinki tonight (Tuesday) aiming to repeat their friendly win of July 2023 against their opponents.
Caroline, who won her 100th cap on that occasion, scored in a 2-1 success in Tampere, but Pedro Martinez Losa's side couldn't find a repeat as they went down 2-0 in the second leg.

Natalia Kuikka gave the hosts an early lead before Nea Lehtola, who had already struck the crossbar prior to the opener, scored Finland's second just before the half hour mark.
Scotland couldn't find a way back and the defeat meant they missed out on qualifying for a third successive major tournament.
After reaching the 2017 European Championships and the 2019 FIFA World Cup, both of which saw Caroline feature, the Scots failed to reach the last Euros, held in England in 2022, and the 2023 World Cup, after they lost a play-off to the Republic of Ireland.
Last month, Caroline returned to the national squad for the first time in more than a year, after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee in game against Belgium at Hampden, and played a key role in a 5-0 aggregate win in their first play-off tie with Hungary, scoring in the second leg.
Speaking to BBC Alba after the game in Helsinki, she said: "I think we did everything. This game came down to a couple of moments that weren't in our favour.
"The team couldn't have done much more. Unfortunately we've not done enough, it's a really tough one to take.
"It's really hard to digest at the moment. It wasn't our night tonight.
"We've worked so hard in the last couple of years to be in this position and unfortunately we couldn't take that final step tonight.
"The players have worked so hard but it wasn't enough."
Next summer's finals take place in Switzerland.
